ITHACA -- Oftentimes after
practice, Cornell women's hockey forward Melanie Jue will stand in
front of the net as her teammates blast one-timers at her.
It's not because they're trying to settle a score. It's
because Jue is fearless, coach Doug Derraugh said -- and it's part
of her job.
Going into Friday's Frozen Four game in Minnesota, the Big Red women will have to use that trait of Jue's when Cornell takes on No. 1 Mercyhurst in the national semifinals. The Lakers have spent most of the season as the top-ranked team in the country and have lost just two games (30-2-3).
