Derraugh Recognized for Accomplishments

Cornell University women's hockey coach Doug Derraugh is the
2010 Division I Women's Hockey Coach of the Year.
A native of Arnprior, Derraugh wins the award after guiding his
team - the Big Red - to a national runner-up finish in its first
appearance in the NCAA Frozen Four tournament. Cornell lost the
championship game Sunday, March 21 with 33.6 seconds left in the
third overtime when second-seeded Minnesota-Duluth clinched the
title at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis, Minn.
In his fifth season as coach, Derraugh has guided the Big Red to
its first league regular-season championship, first playoff and
playoff series victories, first league tournament title and NCAA
tournament appearance, as well as its first berth in the national
title game.
