Big Red Open League Season

The women’s hockey team will begin its ECAC season this
weekend against Ancient Eight rivals Dartmouth and Harvard. The
Red, coming off of two successive 1-4 losses to the top-ranked D-I
Mercyhurst Lakers last weekend, enters this weekend with an 0-2
record. Dartmouth and Harvard, will hit the ice at Lynah at 3 p.m
tomorrow and Saturday respectively.
Reflecting upon the losses to Mercyhurst, it seems as though the
Red has the potential to do well this season.
“Looking at the past weekend, the team is good at fore
checking and creating opportunities to score,” head coach
Doug Derraugh said. “One thing that needs to be worked on is
the transitions from defense to offense and also from offense to
defense.”
