Big Red Trio Named to Canada Under-22 Squad
ITHACA, N.Y. -- A trio of Cornellians were selected to the
Canadian U22 National Team following Hockey Canada's selection camp
that ran from Aug. 6-14. Sophomore Catherine White and incoming
freshmen Lauriane Rougeau and Laura Fortino were selected among the
23-player roster. Fellow Cornellian Chelsea Karpenko participated
at the camp but was not named to the team.
Up next for the U22 National Team is a three-game series against
the Canadian National Team in the coming days, with games being
played Monday, Tuesday and Thursday in Calgary, Alberta. That
series will pit the three against their fellow Cornellians Brianne
Jenner and Rebecca Johnston, who have been training with the
national team in preparation for the upcoming Olympics in February.
