Cornell Hopes to Continue to Thrive Shorthanded

In an ongoing ironic twist, the Cornell women's hockey team's
success continues to leave it shorthanded.
The Big Red will be without sophomore forward Catherine White, and
freshmen defensemen Laura Fortino and Lauriane Rougeau for the
team's first three games of second semester. That's because the
trio has been selected to represent Canada in the MLP Cup in
Germany from Jan. 5-9. The three will miss Cornell's game against
Syracuse on Jan. 5 and a weekend series against Providence College
on Jan. 9-10.
The Big Red has already been playing with just three full forward
lines this season because it's without its best player from a year
ago, Rebecca Johnston, and incoming recruit Brianne Jenner.
Johnston and Jenner will play for Canada in the Vancouver Olympics,
which begin in February.
