Johnston Joins Team Canada for Four Nations Cup
ITHACA, N.Y. — Cornell women’s hockey sophomore
Rebecca Johnston has rejoined the Canadian National Team to play in
the Four Nations Cup held in Lake Placid, N.Y., from Nov. 4-9.
Johnston and Team Canada will be looking to capture their
fifth-straight gold medal.
This is the second time Johnston will play in the Four Nations
Cup; she helped Team Canada win its fourth-straight gold medal last
season in Leksand, Sweden. The team is currently holding a
three-day camp from Oct. 30-Nov. 1 in Pierrefonds, Quebec. Team
practices are open to the public free of charge. Team Canada will
face the Châteauguay Patriotes Midget AAA boys team on
Saturday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m. (EST) at the Concordia University
arena on the Loyola campus. Tickets for this game can be purchased
at the door.
Team Canada will open the 2008 event facing Finland on Nov. 4 at 1
p.m. Canada will play the United States on Nov. 6 and will wrap up
the round-robin competition on Nov. 7 against Sweden.
All contests will be played at the Olympic Center in Lake Placid,
N.Y. The bronze and gold medal games will be held on Nov. 9. For

Johnston opened her sophomore season last weekend notching two
goals and six assists at Vermont, and earned ECAC Hockey Player of
the Week honors. Last season, she led the Big Red with 32 points,
including 16 goals and 16 assists. Johnston became the first
Cornell player to be named ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Year or
receive ECAC Hockey first-team honors.
