The women’s hockey team hopes to remain perfect in three starts when the Red takes on Robert Morris at Lynah Rink tomorrow afternoon for the home opener. Cornell is coming off a convincing sweep of Vermont last weekend, during which the team outscored their opponents 12-2 over the course of two games.

As if the Red (2-0, 0-0 Ivy) needed more reason to celebrate, this past Monday sophomore forward Rebecca Johnston was named ECAC Hockey’s Player of the Week for her efforts in Burlington, Vt., including two goals and six assists.

“I don’t really think about that,” Johnston said. “Obviously it’s a great honor, but when it’s time to play I don’t really focus on my expectations or anything like that ... I just focus on what I have to do and try to get it done.”Hey now, you're an all-star: Sophomore standout foward Rebecca Johnston (16) maneuvers down the ice during a 9-3 victory over in-state opponent Stony Brook on Oct. 17.
