
Cornell Releases 2008-09 Schedule
ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell women's ice hockey head coach Doug
Derraugh has announced the team's upcoming schedule for the 2008-09
season. The Big Red will play 18 home contests, and will also hit
the road for a non-conference series at Vermont this season.

Cornell will open its season with two exhibition games where the
Big Red will take on Stoney Creek on Friday, Oct. 17, and then face
Durham on Saturday, Oct. 18. The Big Red will then open its regular
season on Oct. 24-25 with its trip to Vermont.
The Big Red returns home Nov. 1 to play Robert Morris in a
non-conference contest that opens a five-game home stand for
Cornell. On Friday, Nov. 7, Cornell will open its ECAC Hockey
conference action taking on Princeton in Lynah Rink, before facing
Quinnipiac on Saturday.
Cornell will play host to Niagara during Thanksgiving weekend for
Saturday and Sunday contests. The Big Red will then travel to
Clarkson and St. Lawrence on Dec. 5-6 to round out its 2008 play
before the University's winter break.
The Big Red returns to action in the new year on Sunday, Jan. 4 and
Monday, Jan. 5 when it will host Providence in its final
non-conference games of the season. Cornell will follow with a
home-and-home series against Colgate Jan. 10-11.
Cornell will play its final regular season home games on Feb.
13-14, where it will play host to Ivy powerhouses Harvard and
Dartmouth. The Big Red will then hit the road the following weekend
to play at Rensselaer and Union. Cornell will look to earn its
second-straight appearance in the ECAC Hockey quarterfinals, which
will be held Feb. 27-March 1 in a best of three game series that
will be held at the higher seed's campus.
