Dosdall, Hunt Excelling in Europe
HAMILTON, N.Y. - Colgate women’s hockey alumnae, Samantha
Hunt and Kiira Dosdall are making a name for themselves in the
Elite Women’s Hockey League (EWHL). The two former Raiders
graduated together in 2009 and continue to play together, this time
for the EHV Sabres in Vienna, Austria.
Hunt and Dosdall, who are in their first season in the European
league, were both selected to the 2009-10 All-Star Team and were
the only selections from the EHV Sabres to earn the honor. The team
is made up three forwards, two defensemen and one goalkeeper, with
Dosdall earning a spot as a defensemen and Hunt as a forward.
Dosdall is ranked 13th among Colgate’s all-time leading
scorers and second among defensemen. She finished the league as the
second leading defensive scorer and tied for 13th overall with 19
points from four goals and 15 assists.
Second among the all-time scorers for the Raiders, Hunt finished
as the third highest scorer in the EWHL tallying 24 goals and 15
assists for a total of 39 points. The Sabres finished third in the
league, earning the bronze medal.
