Raiders Place 12 on All-Academic Team
ALBANY, N.Y. – Twelve members of the Colgate University
women’s hockey team were named to the ECAC Hockey
All-Academic Team it was announced by the league office on
Wednesday, June 23. This marks the third straight year 12 players
have earned this honor, the most in Colgate women’s hockey
history.
Named to the team are:
Jacquie Colborne (Calgary, Alta.)
Marissa Dombovy (Webster, N.Y.)
Ali Edell (Mountain Lakes, N.J.)
Nicole McDonald (Calgary, Alta.)
Evan Minnick (Highlands Ranch, Colo.)
Brittany Phillips (Lauder, Man.)
Heidi Peterson (Hastings, Minn.)
Lisa Plenderleith (Ajax, Ont.)
Beth Rotenberg (Toronto, Ont.)
Kimberly Sass (East Amherst, N.Y.)
Jessie Waters (Menlo Park, Calif.)
Jocelyn Yokow (Windsor, Conn.)
Seniors Nicole McDonald and Beth Rotenberg are on the team for the
fourth consecutive season, while Marissa Dombovy, Ali Edell and
Evan Minnick each made the list for the second time. McDonald
received a degree in geology, while Rotenberg majored in
sociology/anthropology. Dombovy graduated in neuroscience, while
Edell and Minnick both received degrees in sociology/anthropology
and geography, respectively.
Junior Lisa Plenderleith is making the list for the third year in
a row, while Jacquie Colborne has made the list twice and Jessie
Waters is making her first appearance. Plenderleith is majoring in
political science; Colborne is studying geology, while Waters is
majoring in international relations.
Sophomore Heidi Peterson is making the list for the second
straight year, while Kimberly Sass is making her first appearance.
Peterson is majoring in political science, while Sass is studying
art and art history.
Freshmen Brittany Phillips and Jocelyn Yokow also made their way
onto the team. Both are undeclared.
Players are eligible for the all-academic team if they earned a
cumulative grade point average of at least a 3.00 on a 4.00 scale
or have an average GPA of 3.00 over the past three semesters.
