Sass Honored at Colgate All-Sports Banquet
HAMILTON, N.Y. – Goaltender Kimberly Sass (East Amherst,
N.Y.) was named Colgate’s Female Rookie of the Year at the
University’s second annual all-sports banquet Wednesday night
at Cotterell Court. The evening honored all 25 varsity sports teams
and over 500 student-athletes.
Sass is the first women’s player to win three ECAC Hockey
awards in a single season. The freshman was named ECAC Hockey
Goaltender of the Year, ECAC first-team, and earned a spot on the
ECAC All-Rookie team. Sass was also tagged ECAC Rookie of the Week
five times over the season and set the Colgate single-season school
record with 14 wins.
Sass led the ECAC with a .941 save percentage, while ranking sixth
with 1.85 goals-against average and fourth with a .656 winning
percentage. Sass set numerous Colgate records over the course of
the season in becoming the first Raiders goaltender to earn
first-team ECAC honors.
