Team Notes: Raiders Host St. Lawrence, Clarkson

The Raiders will return home to host two ECAC opponents this weekend.  First off are the Saints of St. Lawrence slated to play Colgate on Friday, Nov. 13th at 7 p.m. The Raiders will then host No. 2 ranked Clarkson University on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m.  

Scouting the Opposition St. Lawrence - The Saints enter the weekend with a 4-4-3 overall record and a conference mark of 2-3-0. St. Lawrence was ranked No. 7 before losing a pair of games to Harvard and Dartmouth last weekend. The Saints were shutout by Harvard, 3-0, on Nov. 7, following a 4-2 road loss to Dartmouth. Their two league wins came at home against Brown, 3-1, and Yale, 4-0. Vanessa Edmond currently leads the Saints in scoring with 14 points on a team-high eight goals and six assists. Kelly Sabatine follows Edmond with nine points off of six assists and three goals. Britni Smith and Michelle Ng each have four assists with Ng ahead in scoring with seven points and Smith following with six. Brittony Chartier has been the Saints go-to in goal, carrying a 3-3-3 record, 2.09 goals against average and a .915 save percentage. Maxie Weisz has also appeared in goal picking up a.905 save percentage and 2.48 goals against average with a 1-1-0 record. Head Coach Chris Wells is entering his second season at the helm of the Saints program after guiding the 2008-09 squad to the NCAA Tournament and a record of 24-11-3 overall. During the pre-season, St. Lawrence was selected as the ECAC Hockey favorite.  

Clarkson - The Golden Knights will look to continue their seven-game winning streak this weekend as they travel to Cornell on Friday, followed by a game at Starr Rink on Saturday. The second-ranked Golden Knights won their last five home games, before picking up a pair of road victories last weekend to claim an 11-1-1 overall record and a perfect 5-0-0 mark in league play. Clarkson defeated Harvard 2-1 on Friday before downing Dartmouth 3-1 in ECAC play. Heading into the weekend, seniors Dominique Thibault and Britney Selina are atop the Clarkson scoring column. Thibault leads with 17 points off of eight goals and nine assists, while Selina follows right behind with 16 points from six goals and a team-high ten assists. Sophomore Juana Baribeau and junior Melissa Waldie are tied with Thibault in goal scoring with a team-high eight goals apiece. Baribeau also has seven assists for 15 points while Waldie added six assists for 14 points. The Golden Knights have looked to Lauren Dahm as a backstop in all 13 games, with the junior holding a 1.07 goals against average and a .946 save percentage. Shannon and Matt Desrosiers are in their second season as the co-head coaches of the women's hockey program. In their first year with the program the Desrosiers led Clarkson to a 16-14-6 record.
