Colgate Schedule Heavy on Road Contests
HAMILTON, N.Y. -- A lot of traveling and a pair of a
non-conference instate rivals are on tap for the Colgate
women’s hockey team, as the 2009-2010 schedule was announced
Wednesday afternoon.
The Raiders 34 game regular-season schedule features 14 games
played at Starr Rink and 20 played on the road.

The season begins with four road games, as the Raiders travel to
face New Hampshire Friday, October 9 then skate over to Boston
College on Saturday, October 10. After playing the following
weekend at Providence and Connecticut, Colgate opens its home slate
with a two-game set versus Wayne State beginning Friday, October
23.
The following weekend begins ECAC Hockey play for the Raiders. On
Friday, October 30, Colgate will host Harvard followed with
Dartmouth on Saturday, October 31.
In keeping with the ECAC Hockey schedule the Raiders travel the
following weekend, November 6-7 to Rensselaer and Union before
heading home to face St. Lawrence and Clarkson at Starr Rink,
November 13-14.
Following a trip to Quinnipiac and Princeton the Raiders host a
mid-week clash with non-conference foe Syracuse Tuesday, November
24. This is the first of two battles against the Orange as Colgate
opens the 2010 year at Syracuse, January 2.
Colgate’s non-conference schedule concludes with a pair of
road games versus Niagara, January 8-9.
Colgate and Cornell will match-up for a home and home this season
on January 22-23. The first meeting will be at Starr Rink at 3
p.m., followed with a trip to Ithaca the following afternoon.
The Raiders are expected to welcome back 15 lettermen off last
year’s 19-14-3 squad which set a school-record with in wins.
