After suffering only its second loss in ECAC Hockey play this
season, the Clarkson University Women’s Hockey team will look
to jump back into its winning ways as it hosts Rensselaer and Union
at Cheel Arena this weekend. The Golden Knights face off against
the Engineers on Friday at 7:00 p.m. and battle the Dutchwomen on
Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
Guided by second-year head coaches Shannon and Matt Desrosiers,
Clarkson is ranked third in both the USCHO.com and USA Today/USA
Hockey Magazine national polls with a 19-6-3 overall record. With
six games remaining in the regular season, the Green and Gold, led
by senior captain Britney Selina (Thornhill, ONT) and senior
assistant captain Carlee Eusepi (Oakville, ONT) stand atop the ECAC
Hockey standings with a 13-2-1 conference mark. The Knights are
four points ahead of second-place Cornell and seven points in front
of Harvard, Princeton and Rensselaer, who are tied for third.
Clarkson is undefeated at home this season with a 12-0-1 record at
Cheel.
On Tuesday, over in Canton, Clarkson fell to archrival St.
Lawrence 4-2. Junior Melissa Waldie (Newmarket, ONT) and sophomore
Juana Baribeau (Amos, QUE) provided the goals. Freshman Kelsey
