Gaining Momentum in the North Country

POTSDAM, N. Y. -- Clarkson University's Division I Women's
Hockey Team has been around for roughly seven years. And although
this season is going strong, it wasn't always so easy.
Clarkson Co-Head Coach Shannon Desrosiers said, "When you are
recruiting kids, 'Hey, you want to come to Clarkson?' 'Clarkson
who?' you know. But now we are on the map. Kids know. Kids are
contacting us."
But when it comes to recruiting, the coaches say they are somewhat
isolated in the Northeast corner of the map - and most of their
talent has come right from their own "backyard."
