Clarkson Makes Impact for Charities
Clarkson University’s Women’s Hockey team was
recently involved in two fund raising events for charity on campus.
On Friday, April 17 through Saturday, April 18, the Golden Knights
participated in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for
Life.
Posing as super heroes fighting against cancer, the women’s
hockey team, along with other teams and organizations at Clarkson,
raised money by spending the night walking around the Indoor
Recreation Center (IRC) track as well as playing games such as
basketball, volleyball, and dodge ball. The relay is an all-night
event to symbolize that cancer never sleeps and neither will those
looking for a cure. Over $26,000 was raised during the event.
On Sunday morning, April 19, the women’s hockey team along
with numerous other Golden Knight student-athletes took part in
Clarkson’s annual Great Strides for Cystic Fibrosis 5k
Run/Walk. Junior Britney Selina (Thornhill, ONT) was the
women’s champion in the race.
