Team Notes: Golden Knights Travel to Vermont for Season's First Road Trip

Making its first road trip of the season, the Clarkson
University Women’s Hockey team will look to continue its
early season roll that has propelled the Golden Knights to near the
top of the national polls. The Green and Gold, guided by co-head
coaches Shannon and Matt Desrosiers, will take their undefeated
record and lofty rankings to Burlington, VT this weekend as they
battle the University of Vermont in Gutterson Fieldhouse on Friday
at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
Clarkson, which plays its first eight games of the 2009-10
campaign against Hockey East foes, owns a 3-0-1 record. Led by
senior captain Britney Selina (Thornhill, ONT) and senior assistant
captain Carlee Eusepi (Oakville, ONT), Clarkson is ranked fourth in
both the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll and the USCHO.com Poll,
its highest rating ever. Last weekend at Cheel Arena, the Knights
earned a 3-2 overtime victory against Providence College and then
gained their first shutout of the season with a 4-0 blanking of the
University of Connecticut.
After this weekend’s series at Vermont, the Green and Gold
will close out the non-league portion of the their schedule against
Hockey East foes when they host the University of New Hampshire and
Boston University, ranked 3rd and 9th in this week’s polls,
respectively, in Potsdam on October 23-24.
