The following article appeared November 26 on the Clarkson Web site.
Riding its longest unbeaten streak of the season, the Clarkson
University Women’s Hockey team is hitting stride as it nears
the midway point of the 2008-09 campaign. Guided by first-year
co-head coaches Shannon and Matt Desrosiers, the Golden Knights are
coming off their first weekend sweep of the season on the road and
begin a lengthy home stand at Cheel Arena with a significant
milestone about to be achieved. In its sixth year as an NCAA
Program, Clarkson is one win shy of reaching the century mark for
all-time victories with a 99-72-21 all-time record.
The Knights, who are 3-0-1 at home this year, play their next
eight games at Cheel Arena beginning with this weekend’s
non-league series against the University of Vermont. Saturday's
game begins at 2:00 p.m. and Sunday's contest is a 1:00 p.m.
start.
Led by senior captain Kimberly McKenney (Smiths Falls, ONT), the
Knights stand at 6-5-3 overall and are tied for fourth place in the
ECAC Hockey standings with a 4-1-1 league mark. The Green and Gold
are 3-0-1 since mid-November, including wins over Quinnipiac and
Princeton on the road this past weekend.
