McKenna to Guide U.S. Under-18 Team

Former Brown standout Jodi McKenna, who currently serves as head coach at Wesleyan University, will serve as head coach of the 2011 U.S. Women's National Under-18 Team, USA Hockey announced. Joining her as assistant coaches will be Brian Durocher, head women's ice hockey coach at Boston University, and Jennifer Kranz, assistant women's ice hockey coach at St. Cloud State University.

Both McKenna and Durocher return after serving in the same role for the U.S. Women's Under-18 Select Team at the 2010 Under-18 Series, while Kranz will be making her Team USA coaching debut.

McKenna, who is currently in her third year behind the Wesleyan bench, served as an assistant coach for the silver medal-winning 2010 U.S. Olympic Women's Ice Hockey Team. She previously was an assistant coach for the U.S. Women's National Team that won gold at the 2009 International Ice Hockey Federation World Women's Championship and for the 2009-10 U.S. Women's National Team during the Qwest Tour.

Prior to Wesleyan, McKenna spent nine seasons (1998-2007) as an assistant coach at St. Lawrence University. There, she helped the Saints qualify for the NCAA Women's Frozen Four on five occasions. A 1998 graduate of Brown University, McKenna played four seasons (1994-98) for the Bears, and helped the team team capture an ECAC regular-season or tournament title three times.
