Weekend Preview: Teams Looking to Separate

ALBANY, N.Y. - This weekend marks one of the final four weekends of regular-season play in women’s ECAC Hockey action. Eleven of the 12 teams are on the ice all playing in league contests except Quinnipiac, which is hosting Syracuse for a two-game set. Princeton is the lone team idle this weekend, which returns to the ice Monday, January 30. The league standings are tighter than ever with positions two through seven separated by only six points.

Colgate/No. 2/2 Cornell at Clarkson/St. Lawrence
*Cornell concludes its five-game road trip this weekend. Five of the team's seven remaining regular-season games will be at home after this weekend.
*The Big Red and the Saints have the nation's top two unbeaten streaks, with St. Lawrence not losing in nine matches and Cornell unblemished in its last eight.
*Cornell and St. Lawrence have met 58 times, with the Saints holding a 31-23-4 advantage.
*Clarkson boasts the top-ranked penalty-kill in the nation at 90% (99-110).
*The Golden Knights are 10-0-0 when leading through two periods this season.
*Raiders junior forward Brittany Phillips continues to lead Colgate with 27 points from 12 goals and 15 assists.
*The Saints hold a 12-3 advantage against Colgate in Canton, N.Y. The Raiders' most recent road win was 2-1 in the second game of the 2009-10 season.

Rensselaer/Union at Union/Rensselaer
*The Engineers hold a dominant 13-0-1 edge over Union in the all- time series when playing at the Houston Field House. In Schenectady, Rensselaer owns an 8-2-2 advantage over the Dutchwomen.
*The Engineers have 13 different players who have recorded points against the Dutchwomen, led by senior captain Alisa Harrison, who has a two goals and five assists for seven points in six games.
*The latest batch of Union freshman has combined to produce a total of 28 points so far this season. Leading the Dutchwomen is Bryanne Panchuk. The rookie most recently scored against Dartmouth for her 11th point.
*The current Dutchwomen are five points away from having the most points in a single season in Union's Division I history. They are also eight goals away from having the most goals in a Division I season and five assists away from having the most assists in a Division I season.

No. 10/10 Dartmouth/No. 8/9 Harvard at Brown/Yale
*Through 20 games, Dartmouth has had 18 players record a point, five skaters with double-digit points, 13 players with multiple points and 10 skaters with at least one goal and one assist.
*The six overtime games this season are the most the Big Green have played in a season since the squad had eight extra period contests in 2007-08. That season, Dartmouth went 1-1-6 in those games.
*Harvard has not lost in New Haven since 2005 and is undefeated in the last 13 matchups with Yale.
*Harvard has defeated Yale 60 times, which is the highest win total for the Crimson against any one team.
*Sophomore forward Jackie Raines leads the Bulldogs with seven goals, including five on the power-play.
*Senior goalie Genny Ladiges has played some of her best hockey of late for Yale, with 40 or more saves in four of the last five games.
*Senior forward Katelyn Landry leads the Bears offense with seven goals and nine assists in 21 games.
*The Bears are unbeaten in their last three games (2-0-1) earning five league points in the process. They now sit alone in the eighth spot in the league standings, which would qualify them for postseason play.

At Quinnipiac, Syracuse
*Six of the Bobcats' final eight regular season games will be played at home at High Point Solutions Arena. Quinnipiac is 4-4-2 on home ice, and is an impressive 9-5-0 on the road.
*The Bobcats are one of the hottest teams in the country, as they have a 9-2-1 record in their last 12 games and are 12-3-2 record in their last 17 games played.
*SU is in search of its first win since Dec. 2, and has gone 0-5-3 since defeating Lindenwood in overtime, 2-1.
*Quinnipiac owns the all-time series lead versus Syracuse, 3-1. In their last meeting on January, 16, 2010, the Bobcats defeated the Orange, 2-1.
