Cornell & Dartmouth Earn Spots in National Polls
ALBANY, N.Y. -- Cornell and Dartmouth were once again featured
in the in the latest national USCHO.com poll, released Monday,
October 24 and the most recent USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll,
released Tuesday, October 25. Cornell remains in the No. 3/3 slot,
while Dartmouth holds down the No. 10 spot in each poll.
Cornell earned 154 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll
and 118 points in the USCHO.com poll. The Big Red opened play in
ECAC Hockey Tuesday evening with a convincing 6-2 win over rival
Colgate. With the road opener out of the way, Cornell will come
back to Ithaca where it has a 17-game winning streak on the line.
The Big Red will face ECAC Hockey competition in Yale and Brown
this Friday and Saturday.
Dartmouth is ranked in the No. 10 position in both polls this
weeks. The Big Green earned 11 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey
Magazine and 12 points in the USCHO.com poll. The Big Green opened
the regular season on the road at No. 4/5 Boston College Sunday,
Oct. 23, dropping a heartbreaking loss to 4-3 surrendering the
game-winning goal with under two seconds left in the game.
Dartmouth begins ECAC Hockey play when it travels to Clarkson and
St. Lawrence this weekend. The Big Green plays at Clarkson Friday,
Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. and at St. Lawrence Saturday, Oct. 29, at 4
p.m.
Other ECAC Hockey teams receiving votes in the national polls this
week were: St. Lawrence, Harvard, and Clarkson.

including 12 coaches of Division I programs and three women's
hockey writers. USCHO.com provides in-depth coverage of
college sports, including hockey, lacrosse, soccer, and others.
The 15th annual USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women’s College
Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American
Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from coaches
and journalists representing each of the four NCAA Division I ice
hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the
AHCA and USA Hockey Magazine, the most widely distributed hockey
magazine in the world.
