POTSDAM, N.Y. (11/12/11) - A goal in first period would decide
the game as Princeton lost a 1-0 contest to Clarkson on Saturday,
Nov. 12 at Cheel Arena. It was the first time the Tigers have been
held scoreless this season.
Clarkson's Juana Baribeau got the Green & Gold on the
scoreboard at 18:57 in the first period when she knocked in a
rebound by Hailey Wood.
The Tigers best chance to score was on a Sally Butler breakaway
with 5:52 left in the second period, a period that saw Princeton
outshoot Clarkson and put 16 shots on goal. Clarkson goalie Erica
Howe would thwart Butler's shot and finished the night with 26
saves.
Clarkson edge Princeton in shots 31-26
Senior netminder Rachel Weber finished the game with 30 saves.
Weber was pulled for the final 48 seconds in favor of the extra
attacker but Princeton couldn't get anything on net.
Princeton falls to 4-3-1, 3-2-1 while Clarkson moves to 7-3-4,
3-2-1.
The Tigers return home to play Cornell and Colgate, next weekend,
Nov. 18 & 19.
