Dartmouth Makes NCAA Playoffs and Plays Cornell

HANOVER, N.H. -- After having to wait for an at-large bid, the Dartmouth women's hockey team was rewarded on Sunday when it earned the seventh spot in the eight-team NCAA playoff field.

The Big Green will take on the team they just lost to in the ECAC Championship, Cornell. Dartmouth has a 22-11-0 record and the Big Red have a 30-2-1 mark. The game will be played on Saturday, March 12 with the time to be determined on Monday.

Dartmouth and Cornell have played three times this season with the Big Red winning two out of three. Each team has won on its home ice, with Cornell winning this past Saturday in the ECAC Championship, 3-0.

It will be the seventh time the Big Green have made the NCAA tournament and the third time in the past five seasons. Dartmouth last made the tournament in 2009 when it lost at Wisconsin, 7-0, in the first round.
