Rivals Come Together for Mandi's March
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale Club of New Haven, in cooperation with the Athletic Departments of Yale and Quinnipiac Universities, presents a day of events to support Yale women's ice hockey center Mandi Schwartz (Wilcox, Sask.) and her family in her two-year battle with leukemia. On Saturday, Nov. 6, when the Yale men's ice hockey team hosts Quinnipiac at Ingalls Rink, the day will begin with "Mandi's March" along 7.5 miles of the historic Farmington Rails-to-Trail Linear Park between the two schools' hockey rinks. The annual Yale Club Hockey Night Dinner will be held at 5:30 p.m. that night, and the game begins at 7 p.m.
Quinnipiac and Yale alumni, students, faculty, staff, parents, friends and their guests are all welcome.
Mandi's March begins between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. at the
trailhead opposite the entry drive to Quinnipiac's TD Bank Sports
Center on Sherman Ave. in Hamden. Mandi's supporters will travel by
the human-powered conveyance of their choice down the trail to
Sachem St. and Ingalls Rink at Yale. Entry will be by donation,
with prizes for each 10th finisher and a special event T-shirt for
each participant. A minimum donation of $15 is suggested.
The Annual Yale Club Hockey Night Dinner then takes place starting
at 5:30 p.m. across from Ingalls Rink at Sage-Bowers Hall, 205
Prospect Street. The game begins at 7 p.m.
All proceeds will be presented to Mandi Schwartz and her
family.
