Duo Selected in Latest National Polls

ALBANY, NY – The national voters in the USCHO.com poll, released Monday, February 14 and the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll, released Tuesday, February, 15 have recognized Cornell and Dartmouth in the latest women’s polls. ECAC Hockey’s top team Cornell continues to be ranked No. 2/2 in both polls, while Dartmouth returns to the national spotlight in the No. 10/10 spot in both polls.         

Once again Cornell sits in the No. 2/2 position with 177 points and six first-place votes in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women’s College Hockey poll and 138 points and three first-place votes in the USCHO.com poll. The Big Red rolled last weekend posting an 8-0 win over Brown Friday and a 7-1 win Saturday against Yale. Cornell closes out the regular season next weekend with a road trip to Dartmouth and Harvard. Cornell will take on Dartmouth Friday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m., before battling Harvard the following afternoon in a 4 p.m. contest. The Big Red will then be home the following weekend for the ECAC Hockey quarterfinal round against an opponent to be determined.

Winners of eight of its last nine games Dartmouth re-enters the national polls in the No. 10/10 spot. The Big Green owns a league record of 13-7-0 and an overall mark of 17-9-0, which has them positioned in third-place with 26 points in ECAC Hockey. Dartmouth earned 15 points in the No. 10 slot in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll and 11 points for the No. 10 position in the USCHO.com poll. Dartmouth will be challenged this weekend when it takes on Cornell and Colgate in the regular-season finales.

Harvard and Quinnipiac also received one votes in one of the national polls this week.
