Cornell Earns No. 1 Spot in Polls

ALBANY, NY – After posting two identical 6-0 shutouts over Niagara last weekend Cornell is the new No. 1 ranked team in the latest national polls released Monday, November 29 and Tuesday, November 30.

With its two recent wins Cornell has now claimed victory in ten of its 11 contests on the season.  The Big Red has shutout its last four opponents and only given more two goals in a game once this season.  Cornell ranks third in the country in scoring offense (4.64 G/GM) and first in scoring defense only surrendering a mere 0.91 goals each game.  Cornell earned 139 points and seven first-place votes in the USCHO.com poll and 175 points and eight first-place votes in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll.  Cornell takes to the road Tuesday evening visiting Syracuse in a non-league tilt. 

Dartmouth, Harvard, and Quinnipiac all received votes in the national polls this week.
