Dartmouth Joins Cornell in National Polls

ALBANY, NY – For the first time this season Dartmouth has been selected to the national polls by its voters.  Cornell and Dartmouth hare have earned stops in the top 10 of both the USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Magazine polls released Monday, November 15 and Tuesday, November 16.

After an idle week Cornell holds onto the No. 2 position in both national polls.  The Big Red are 6-1-0 overall and 4-0-0 in conference play in the 2010-11 season.  Cornell earned 130 points in the USCHO.com poll and 166 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll.  Cornell resumes play this weekend hosting Princeton on Nov. 19th and Quinnipiac on Nov. 20 in League play.

Dartmouth makes its way into both national polls for the first time this season.  The Big Green was victorious in two thrilling overtime games last weekend, while registering a 2-0-0 record.  On Friday Dartmouth won 3-2 at Princeton and followed up the performance with a 4-3 win at Quinnipiac.  As a result, Dartmouth is now ranked No. 9 in the USCHO.com poll (27 points) and No. 10 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll (36 points).  Dartmouth will look to stretch its three-game winning streak as it plays a home-and-home series this weekend with travel partner Harvard.

Harvard and Quinnipiac each received votes in both national polls this week.
