Weekly Polls: League Pair Maintains National Presence
ALBANY, NY -– Two ECAC Hockey teams –Cornell and Harvard continue to earn the respect of the poll voters, as they are once again acknowledged in the national polls released Monday, October 11 and Tuesday, October 12.
Cornell maintained the No. 2 ranking in both the USCHO.com poll and the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll, earning 120 points and 155 points respectively. The Big Red received the most first-place votes (7) in the USCHO.com poll and second most (6) in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll. Coming off the program's first ECAC Hockey regular-season and tournament title, Cornell has been tabbed to repeat as league champions in the annual preseason coaches’ poll. In addition, the Big Red placed four players on the six-member preseason all-league team, as voted upon by the league's 12 coaches.
Harvard fell two spots in both polls, moving from the No. 9 position to the No. 7 spot, garnering 36 points in the USCHO.com poll and 40 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll. The Crimson will dust off their skates on October 23 taking on McGill in an exhibition contest.
Riding a nation’s best four-game winning streak, Quinnipiac also received votes in both national polls.

The USCHO.com Poll is compiled weekly and consists of 15 voters, including 12 coaches of Division I programs and three women's hockey writers. USCHO.com provides in-depth coverage of college sports, including hockey, lacrosse, soccer, and others.
The 14th annual USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women’s College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the four NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the AHCA and USA Hockey Magazine, the most widely distributed hockey magazine in the world.
