Weekly Poll: Cornell & Harvard Ranked Among Top Teams

ALBANY, NY – Two ECAC Hockey teams - Cornell and Harvard once again have earned the respect of the poll voters, as they are once again acknowledged in the national polls released Monday, November 1 and Tuesday, November 2.

Coming off League wins over Quinnipiac and Princeton last weekend Cornell remains in the No. 2 spot in both national polls.  The Big Red, now 4-0-0, earned 137 points and five first-place votes in the USCHO.com poll and six first-place votes and 171 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll.  Cornell has a busy week ahead, as it hosts No. 4/4 Mercyhurst Tuesday, No. 10/10 Harvard Friday, and Dartmouth Saturday. 

In its first weekend of action on the 2010-11 season Harvard skated to a 3-3, overtime time with rival Yale and posted a 4-2 win over Brown.  The Crimson dropped from the No. 9 spot to the No. 10 position in both polls earning 20 points in the USCHO.com poll and 26 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll.  Harvard takes to the road in League action this weekend, battling No. 2/2 Cornell Friday and Colgate Saturday.

The USCHO.com Poll is compiled weekly and consists of 15 voters, including 12 coaches of Division I programs and three women's hockey writers.  USCHO.com provides in-depth coverage of college sports, including hockey, lacrosse, soccer, and others.

The 14th annual USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women’s College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association.
