BOSTON (11/27/10) - Rachel Weber made 29 saves and Olivia Mucha scored a second period goal but it wasn't enough as the Princeton women's hockey team fell 2-1 at fifth-ranked Boston University on Saturday at Agganis Arena.
The Terriers completed a two-game sweep of Princeton with the win and went ahead for good with five minutes remaining in the opening period when Tara Watchorn scored on the power play.
Jill Cardella scored the eventual game-winning goal six minutes into the second period to give her team a 2-0 lead before Mucha cut the lead in half at the 14:04 mark with her first collegiate goal. Laura Martindale had an assist on the tally.
Princeton was outshot 31-24 in the game, but Weber made 29 saves, including 14 in the final period to keep Princeton within striking distance. Alissa Fromkin stopped 23 shots in front of the BU goal.
Princeton falls to 3-9-1 overall with the loss. Princeton hosts Yale and Brown next weekend.
