ITHACA, N.Y. -- Freshman Jessica Campbell scored four goals and

scoreless in two chances in the season opener on Friday, held a
decisive 43-8 edge in shots over the Colonials. Robert Morris got
its lone goal on the power play, with Dayna Newsom scoring and Sara
O'Malley and Thea Imbrogno picking up assists. The Colonials went
1-for-2 on the man advantage on the afternoon.
Cornell goaltender Amanda Mazzotta was called upon for just seven
saves in the contest, while Robert Morris netminder Daneca
Butterfield stopped 34 shots in taking the loss.
Cornell jumped out to an early lead with Jenner scoring her first
career goal just 1:36 into the contest. Jenner picked up a loose
puck in the neutral zone and skated through the Colonial defense
before flipping a wrist shot over Butterfield for the 1-0 lead.
Johnston made the score 2-0 at the 8:21 mark of the first period
when she took a pass from Cudmore and ripped a shot into the net
for her first goal of the year. Four minutes later, it was Campbell
scoring on the power play, following up on a rebound off a shot
from Johnston with Young also adding an assist on the play.
Cornell took the 3-0 lead into the first intermission and added a
pair of goals in the second. Cook carried the puck into the RMU end
and sent a pass to the middle where it was sent on to Hughes by
Ogilvie, and Hughes buring a shot inside the near post to make the
score 4-0 at the 5:40 mark of the period. Less than a minute later,
it was Campbell scoring her second of the game, with Jenner and
Fortino recording assists on the play.

hat trick, tipping home a shot from the point by Young from between
the circles. She added the fourth with a rebound off a shot by
Paulson at the 16:23 mark of the period, before the Colonials got
on the scoreboard at the 17:47 mark of the game. With the Colonials
on the power play, Imbrogno sent the puck around the Cornell goal
where O'Malley played it to the front of the net, where Newsom was
camped out, jamming the puck under Mazzotta and spoiling the
shutout bid for the Big Red netminder.
Karlee Overguard scored her first goal of the year in the game's
closing seconds, tipping home a shot from Rougeau with the Big Red
on the power play, capping the scoring at 9-1.
