HAMILTON, N.Y. -- The women's ice hockey
completed its final exhibition game of the season with a 7-1 win
over the Ottawa Jr. Senators on Saturday afternoon at Starr Rink.
The Raiders outshot the Senators 46-9.
Senior forward and co-captain Jacquie Colborne (Calgary, Alta.)
and sophomore forward Brittany Phillips (Lauder, Man.) led the team
in scoring with two goals apiece while freshman forwards Taylor
Volpe (Tustin, Calif.) and Rebecca Walsh (Calgary, Alta.) along
with junior defender Kristi-Lyn Pollock (Virden, Man.) scored one
goal each for the Raiders.
Colgate also split goaltending duties between senior co-captain
Lisa Plenderleith (Ajax, Ont.) and junior Kimberly Sass (East
Amherst, N.Y.). Plenderleith had five saves while Sass had
four.
Colgate will open the 2010-11 season at home against Boston
College on Friday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m.
