Selina Tabbed as League's Best Defensive Forward

ALBANY, N.Y. -- ECAC Hockey today announced Britney Selina from Clarkson University has been named the winner of the league's 2009-10 Women's Best Defensive Forward Award presented by Gladiator Custom Mouthguards.

A solid two-way player at Clarkson, senior Selina is not only the Golden Knights' all-time
leading scorer, but the team's best defensive player as well during her career.  The Captain was characterized this season as strong, tough, and developed a work ethic that was second to none.  Her genuine character has earned the respect of teammates and coaches.  She was often looked to lead the team's penalty-kill unit which only surrendered 11 goals this season and was a leader in blocked shots.  Selina helped the Golden Knights to a No. 2 ranking in scoring defense this season, only surrendering 28 goals in 22 conference games (1.27 G/GM).

The other finalists for the award were Sarah Parsons, Dartmouth, Allison Wright, Rensselaer, and Liz Zorn from Cornell.
