Trio Maintains Identity in National Polls

ALBANY, NY - No. 4/4 Clarkson, No. 6/6 Harvard, and No. 10 Cornell have once again been recognized in the latest USCHO.com Poll released Monday, January 11 and latest USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll released Tuesday, January 12.  The Golden Knights boasting an overall record of 15-4-2 sit in the No. 4/4 spot, while the Crimson (8-4-3) is featured in the No. 6/6 position, and Cornell earned a No. 10 spot.

Coming off a three-point road trip to the Capital District, where it earned 3-1 victory over Union and a 1-1 overtime tie with Rensselaer, Clarkson dropped one spot in both the USCHO.com Poll (105 points) and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll (131 points) from the No. 3 position to the No. 4 slot.  Clarkson currently sits in first place in the ECAC Hockey standings with19 points and a 9-1-1 record.  The Golden Knights showcase the nation's second best scoring defense, having only surrendered 27 goals in 21 contests (1.29G/GM).  Clarkson is on the road this weekend traveling to No. 1 Mercyhurst for a clash of top-10 teams.

Harvard saw its nine game unbeaten streak come to an end (6-0-3) this weekend as it fell to Quinnipiac by a count of 1-0 Saturday.  The Crimson came back from a two-goal deficient Friday to keep the streak alive by tying Princeton, 3-3.  As a result Harvard dropped one spot to the No. 6 position in the USCHO.com Poll receiving 72 points, as well as one spot in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll (88 points) landing them in the No. 6 spot.  The Crimson will be a home this weekend facing Cornell Friday evening and Colgate Saturday afternoon. 

Despite dropping two games last weekend due to the fact that it only dressed 12 student-athletes because of injuries and international commitments, Cornell is still ranked in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll, coming in at the No. 10 spot with 17 points.  The Big Red will be tested this weekend at they travel to No. 6 Harvard in ECAC Hockey play.
