Three League Teams Noticed on National Level
ALBANY, NY -- Three ECAC Hockey teams have earned top ten spots in the latest USCHO.com Poll released Monday, November 30 and the latest USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll released Tuesday, December 1. Clarkson, Cornell, and Harvard continue to show the league's presence on the national scope of women's ice hockey.
Clarkson fell one spot to the No. 4 position in this week's USCHO.com Poll (104 points) and dropped two spots to the No. 5 position in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll (124 points), as it dropped a two-game set to No. 2 Minnesota on the road. Clarkson currently sits tied for second place in ECAC Hockey play with a 6-1-0 record. The Golden Knights will be at home this weekend hosting Quinnipiac and Princeton in conference action.
Cornell maintained its No. 6 spot in the USCHO.com Poll earning 57 points and fell one position to the No. 7 spot in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll garnering 68 points. The Big Red split a two-game set with Niagara last weekend, taking Saturday's game by a count of 2-1 and dropped Sunday's contest, 2-1. Cornell boasts the nation's third best power-play having scored on 10 of 47 opportunities on the season (21.3%).
Harvard extended its unbeaten streak to five games (4-0-1) by bettering Dartmouth by a count of 3-2 last Wednesday. The Crimson came in at the No. 9 spot in both the USCHO.com Poll and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll, moving up one position, with 33 and 40 points respectively. Harvard is also tied for second place in ECAC Hockey play with 12 points on a 6-3-0 record.
