Four Teams Earns Spots in Polls
ALBANY, N.Y. -- Clarkson, which recorded a win and a tie versus then-ranked Boston College earned the respect of the poll voters garnering the No. 7 spot in both national polls, released Monday, October 5 and Tuesday October 6. St. Lawrence, Dartmouth, and Harvard remain entrenched in the top 10.
The Golden Knights entered the polls for the first time in the young season, accumulating 64 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll, and 53 points in the USCHO.com poll. Clarkson earned its first wins of the season last weekend, knocking off visiting Boston College 5-1 Friday and tying the Eagles 1-1 Saturday. The Golden Knights look to extend their unbeaten streak this weekend when Providence and Connecticut visit Cheel.
St. Lawrence, which begins regular-season play this weekend hosting Providence and Connecticut, is seated at the No. 5 position in both national polls. The Saints garnered 107 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll and 71 points in the USCHO.com poll.
Dartmouth is ranked in the No. 8 spot in both polls. The Big Green earned 56 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll and 40 points in the USCHO.com poll.
Harvard is the fourth ECAC Hockey team to land in the national polls. The Crimson are No. 9 in both the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll (52 points) and in the USCHO.com poll (26 points.
