Raiders Blanked by No. 3 Clarkson
POTSDAM, N.Y. (1/29/10) - Sophomore
goaltender Kimberly Sass (East Amherst, N.Y.) had 25 saves but it
wasn't enough as third-ranked Clarkson blanked Colgate, 3-0, on
Friday evening at Cheel Arena in Potsdam, N.Y.
Juana Baribeau had a hand in each of the Golden Knights goals,
recording two goals and one assist while Britney Selina picked up
the remaining goal for Clarkson. The top team in the ECAC, Clarkson
(18-5-3, 12-1-1) lit the lamp once in each period.
The Raiders (7-16-4, 3-8-4) went 0-2 on the power-play while
Clarkson was 0-1. The Golden Knights just barely outshot Colgate
28-25, but goaltender Lauren Dahm made 25 saves to earn the shutout
victory.
Baribeau opened the scoring at 7:02 in the first period connecting
on a shot from the bottom left circle. Clarkson earned a 2-0
advantage with just 13 seconds remaining in the second frame as
Selina scored off a pass from Baribeau. The sophomore closed out
the scoring in the final period to give the Knights their eighth
straight win. Colgate will be back in action tomorrow, Jan.
30 when they face St. Lawrence at 4 p.m. in Canton, N.Y.
