Weekend Update: Photo Finish...
ALBANY, N.Y. -- The final Friday of the last
weekend of regular season play in ECAC Hockey women's action
answered some postseason questions, but not all of them. No.
9/9 Harvard has now taken over the top spot in the League standings
and will look to capture its fifth title in the last seven
seasons. The League's ‘Pink at the Rink' promotion will
continue this weekend as well. For more information fans can

At No. 9/9 Harvard 4, No. 7/7 St. Lawrence
0: The Crimson struck three times in the first
period and did not look back as the ninth-ranked Crimson shut down
No. 7 St. Lawrence, 4-0, Friday evening at Bright Hockey
Center. Sophomore forward Kate Buesser and senior forward
Sarah Vaillancourt each scored twice, while junior forward Anna
McDonald collected three assists. Junior netminder Christina
Kessler made 22 saves for her fourth shutout of the season.
With the victory, Harvard moves to first in the ECAC Hockey
standings with 32 points, one ahead of St. Lawrence with one game
remaining in the regular season.
No. 8/8 Dartmouth 4 at Clarkson 4 (ot):
Clarkson held a commanding 4-0 lead entering the final period, but
it would not hold-up as eighth-ranked Dartmouth stormed back with
four goals of its own to earn the 4-4 tie, clinching home ice for
the Big Green in the first round of the ECAC Hockey
Tournament. Freshman forward Kelly Foley netted a pair of
goals, including the game-tying goal on the power play to lead the
Big Green. Junior Jenna Cunningham chipped in with a
game-high three points on a goal and two assists. Senior
forward Marie-Jo Gaudet netted two goals for the Golden Knights,
while freshman forward Juana Baribeau added two helpers in the
tie.
Princeton 3 at Brown 0: Senior forward
Christine Foster had a goal and an assist and senior goaltender
Kristen Young made 21 saves as the Princeton blanked Brown
3-0 Friday night at Meehan Auditorium. The win clinched home
ice for Princeton in next weekend's ECAC Hockey
quarterfinals. Bears' senior goalie Nicole Stock had 46 saves
against the Tigers. The Tigers were 1-for-3 on the power
play, while Brown was 0-for-1.
Colgate 2, at Union 1: Freshman goaltender
Kimberly Sass made 21 saves and junior forward Beth Rotenberg
recorded two-points including the game winning goal as the Colgate
beat Union 2-1 Friday night at Messa Rink. Colgate scored two
power-play goals, one in each of the final two periods to record it
18th win of the season, a new school record and secured the number
five spot in the postseason tournament. Union senior
goaltender Lundy Day made 43 saves in a 2-1 loss and freshman
Lauren Hoffman scored her seventh goal of the season for the
Dutchwomen.
At Rensselaer 3, Cornell 1: Rensselaer broke
the game wide open with goals by junior forward Whitney Naslund and
freshman forward Alisa Harrison in the third stanza to secure a 3-1
victory over visiting Cornell Friday evening. The Engineers
which held a 35-27 advantage in shots in the game and saw sophomore
netminder Sonja van der Bliek stop 26 shots for the win.
Freshman forward Catherine White scored the lone Cornell goal on a
power play and junior goaltender Jenny Niesluchowski made 32 saves
for the Big Red in the loss.
At Yale 1, Quinnipiac 0: Yale sophomore
goaltender Jackee Snikeris picked-up her second consecutive
shutout, stopping 20 Quinnipiac shots in helping the Bulldogs
better the Bobcats by a count of 1-0. Snikeris extended her
scoreless streak to 220:38 with the shutout effort. Sophomore
forward Bray Ketchum netted the game-winner for the Bobcats with
under five minutes remaining in the third period. Quinnipiac
junior goaltender Nanna Holm Glaas made 30 saves in getting the
hard-luck loss. The Bobcats were 0-for-2 on the power play,
while holding the Bulldogs scoreless on their four attempts with
the extra attacker.
