Trio Retains Presence

ALBANY, N.Y. -- St. Lawrence, Dartmouth and Princeton continued to maintain positions in the national polls, garnering top-10 slots in the latest polls released Tuesday.

Sporting a record of 14-5-3 overall and 8-1-1 in ECAC Hockey, St. Lawrence registered the No. 4 ranking in both the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll (125 points) and USCHO.com poll (93 points). The Saints swept a weekend series, beating Brown 3-2 Friday and Yale 4-0 Saturday.

Dartmouth (12-6-2 overall, 9-3-2 in ECAC Hockey) tallied 52 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll to earn the No. 8 position and 29 points in the USCHO.com poll to earn the No. ranking. The Big Green defeated Providence 7-3 Tuesday and dropped an 8-3 decision to New Hampshire Friday.

Princeton (11-8-1 overall, 8-5 in ECAC Hockey) ranks No. 10 in the USCHO.com poll (19 points). The Tigers did not play last weekend and are idle until January 27 when they travel to Quinnipiac.

The 12th annual USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the six NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the American Hockey Coaches Association and USA Hockey Magazine, the most widely distributed hockey magazine in the world.

The USCHO.com Poll is compiled weekly and consists of 15 voters, including 12 coaches of Division I programs and three women's hockey writers. USCHO.com provides in-depth coverage of college sports, including hockey, lacrosse, soccer and others.
