More of the Same: St. Lawrence, Dartmouth in Top 10
ALBANY, N.Y. -- Eighteen national polls in 2008-09. Eighteen appearances by St. Lawrence and Dartmouth.
The Saints and Big Green once again earned top-10 slots in the latest national polls, garnering the No. 6 and No. 8 spots, respectively, in the polls released Tuesday.
St. Lawrence (18-6-3 overall, 12-2-1) registered the No. 6 slot in both the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll (105 points) and USCHO.com poll (81 points). The Saints split a pair of League games last weekend, defeating Cornell 2-1 Friday, while dropping a 3-1 decision at Colgate.
Dartmouth (14-6-2 overall, 11-3-2 in ECAC Hockey) holds the No.
8 position in both polls, tallying 60 points in the USA Today/USA
Hockey Magazine poll and 41 points in the USCHO.com poll. The Big
Green recorded a pair of League victories last weekend, beating
Rensselaer 8-4 Friday and Union 4-2 Saturday.

The 12th annual USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the six NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the American Hockey Coaches Association and USA Hockey Magazine, the most widely distributed hockey magazine in the world.
The USCHO.com Poll is compiled weekly and consists of 15 voters, including 12 coaches of Division I programs and three women's hockey writers. USCHO.com provides in-depth coverage of college sports, including hockey, lacrosse, soccer and others.
