Tangled at the Top

Where have you gone, Sarah Vaillancourt? Crimson Nation turns
its startled eyes to you.
Harvard’s defending Patty Kazmaier Award-winner has only
skated in a pair of contests for the Cambridge club this year
because of international obligations, and her teammates will be
more than happy to have her back.
The Crimson dropped consecutive games for the first time since the
2006-07 postseason, when they lost to St. Lawrence in the league
semifinal and Wisconsin in the NCAA tournament. This time, it was
the North Country that sank the reigning league champions, with
Clarkson and SLU (again) dispatching the visitors by 2-0 and 3-1
scores, respectively. Harvard has only scored 15 goals in six games
so far, it has surrendered 11.
