Climbing Toward the Top

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Harvard and St. Lawrence each moved closer to the top spot, while Dartmouth retained its position, in the latest USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll, released Tuesday.

Harvard, the 2008 ECAC Hockey regular-season and tournament champion, moved to No. 3 in the national poll, up one spot from the previous week. The Crimson amassed 145 total points.

St. Lawrence, like Harvard, advanced one slot from the previous week's poll, climbing to No. 7 overall. The Saints, who edged McGill in exhibition play to open the 2008-09 campaign, garnered 92 points.

Dartmouth held fast in the No. 8 slot, totaling 66 points. The Big Green open the 2008-09 against McGill in exhibition competition October 24.
