Trio Remains Entrenched in Polls

ALBANY, N.Y. -- The trio of Harvard, Dartmouth, St. Lawrence continued to represent the league on the national scene, earning top-10 slots in the latest national polls.

Fresh off of a weekend-opening sweep over Quinnipiac (2-1) and Princeton (6-4), Harvard (2-0 overall, 2-0 in ECAC Hockey) remains entrenched at No. 3 in the polls, totaling 152 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll, and 111 points in the USCHO.com poll. The Crimson host Rensselaer and Union this weekend.

The Big Green of Dartmouth (2-0 overall, 2-0 in ECAC Hockey), who opened their campaign with a 3-2 victory over Princeton Friday and followed with a 3-0 triumph at Quinnipiac,  retained their No. 5 ranking in both polls. Dartmouth accumulated 95 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll and 78 points in the USCHO.com poll. The Big Green host three games this week, facing Boston College Wednesday, Union Friday and Rensselaer Saturday.

St. Lawrence (3-1-2 overall) occupies the No. 9 slot in both polls. The Saints, who travel to Yale and Brown this weekend, garnered 47 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll and 38 points in the USCHO.com poll.

The 12th annual USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the six NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the American Hockey Coaches Association and USA Hockey Magazine, the most widely distributed hockey magazine in the world.

The USCHO.com Poll is compiled weekly and consists of 15 voters, including 12 coaches of Division I programs and three women's hockey writers. USCHO.com provides in-depth coverage of college sports, including hockey, lacrosse, soccer and others.
