Dartmouth Ends Raiders' Season
HANOVER, N.H (3/1/09) - The Raiders scored three goals in the
third period led by two assists from senior Sam Hunt (Calgary,
Alta.) but it wasn't enough as the Colgate women's hockey team fell
7-3 to Dartmouth Sunday afternoon at Thompson Arena. The loss
brings the Raiders season to an end.
Colgate (19-14-3, 13-7-3) scored three goals in the third period
the first from junior Beth Rotenberg (Toronto, Ont.), the second
from sophomore Hannah Milan (Great Barrington, Mass.) and the third
from senior Elin Brown (Calgary, Alta.) while Hunt recorded two
assists in the contest for seven-points in the series.
Dartmouth (18-9-4, 13-6-4) lit the lamp three times in the first
period to go on top 3-0. The Big Green went a perfect 3-for-3 on
the power-play in the period while Colgate went 0-for-3.
The two teams went scoreless in a physical second period. Colgate

Dartmouth 0-for-2. Dartmouth extended its lead to 5-0,
midway through the third with two more power-play goals. Colgate
found the net for the first time at the 7:46 mark when Rotenberg
flipped the rebound over goaltender Carli Clemis. The Raiders
narrowed the gap 5-2 nearly three-minutes later with Milan's goal
of a nice feed from Hunt. After Dartmouth's only even strength goal
of the game Brown found the back of the net of a pass from Hunt to
bring Colgate within three with five minute remaining. The
Raiders were charged with four late penalties allowing Dartmouth to
score one more during a two-man advantage with 1:31 remaining.
