
Harvard Maintains Top Ranking; North Country Duo Among Nation's Best

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Harvard remains the nation's No. 1-ranked team,
earning the top spot in both the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine and
USCHO.com polls. St. Lawrence and Clarkson maintained their
presence nationally, once again earning top-10 positions.
The Crimson received 16 of 19 first-place votes (186
points) in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll and six of
15 first-place votes (139 points) in the USCHO.com poll. Harvard,
which was No. 2 in last week's USCHO.com poll, registered a 4-0
triumph over visiting Dartmouth Sunday.
The Saints of St. Lawrence rank No. 6 nationally in both polls. St.
Lawrence earned a tie for the No. 6 position with Mercyhurst in the
USCHO.com poll. St. Lawrence posted a weekend road sweep of
Rensselaer (3-0) Friday and Union (7-1) Saturday. The Saints
tallied 93 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll and 71
points in the USCHO.com poll.
Surging Clarkson, which posted a weekend sweep at Union (6-0)
Friday and Rensselaer (3-0) Saturday, occupies the No. 9 slot
in both polls, garnering 37 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey
Magazine poll and 25 points in the USCHO.com poll.
About the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll: The 11th annual poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the six NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the American Hockey Coaches Association and USA Hockey Magazine, the most widely distributed hockey magazine in the world.
