ALBANY, N.Y. -- The national polls continue to be a showcase of
league teams as the quartet of Harvard, St. Lawrence, Clarkson and
Dartmouth registered slots in the latest national polls.
For the fifth consecutive week, Harvard is the No. 1 team in the
land. The Crimson received 18 of 19 first-place votes (189
points) in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll and 10
of 15 first-place votes (145 points) in the USCHO.com poll.
St. Lawrence continued its hold on a top-10 ranking, garnering
the No. 6 slot in both polls. The Saints tallied 98
points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll and 75 points in
the USCHO.com poll.
Clarkson also held steady, earning the No. 9 slot in both
polls. The Golden Knights garnered 39 points in the
USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll and 33 points in the
USCHO.com poll.
Dartmouth secured the No. 10 slot in both polls. The Big Green tallied 14 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll and 11 points in the USCHO.com poll.
About the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll: The 11th annual poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the six NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the American Hockey Coaches Association and USA Hockey Magazine, the most widely distributed hockey magazine in the world.
