ALBANY, N.Y. -- ECAC Hockey continues to headline the national
landscape as four teams--Harvard, St. Lawrence, Clarkson and
Dartmouth--registered slots in the latest national polls, released
Monday.
The No. 1 team in the land continues to be the high-flying Crimson
of Harvard. The Crimson received 16 of 19 first-place votes (185
points) in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll
and eight of 15 first-place votes (141 points) in the
USCHO.com poll. Harvard registered a weekend sweep over Brown and
Yale last weekend.
The Saints of St. Lawrence rank No. 6 in the USCHO.com poll and No.
7 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls. St. Lawrence
registered a win and a tie in a weekend series versus North Country
rival Clarkson last weekend. The Saints tallied 88 points in
the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll and 72 points in the
USCHO.com poll.
Clarkson moved up one slot to No. 8 in the USA Today/USA Hockey
Magazine poll. The Golden Knights occupy the No. 9 slot in the
USCHO.com poll. Clarkson garnering 48 points in the USA
Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll and 36 points in the USCHO.com
poll.
Dartmouth secured the No. 10 slot in both polls. The Big Green, who tied Yale and defeated Brown last weekend, tallied 18 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll and 15 points in the USCHO.com poll.
About the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll: The 11th annual poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the six NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the American Hockey Coaches Association and USA Hockey Magazine, the most widely distributed hockey magazine in the world.
