ALBANY, N.Y. -- The top four teams in ECAC Hockey continue to be
among the best in the nation, once again earning positions in the
national polls.
Harvard claimed all 19 first-place votes and a total of 190 points
to retain the top spot in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine
Women's College Hockey Poll and 10 of 15 first-place votes for 145
points to secure the top spot in the USCHO.com
poll. The Crimson swept Cornell over the
weekend in ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals competition.
St. Lawrence remained set at No. 6 in both polls. The
Saints tallied 104 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine
poll and 82 points in the USCHO.com poll. The Saints swept Yale
last weekend in ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals action.
Dartmouth, which defeated Colgate last weekend in ECAC Hockey
Quarterfinals action, occupies the No. 8 slot in both
polls, tallying 42 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll
and 39 points in the USCHO.com poll.
Clarkson, which earned its first league championship finals appearance by defeating Princetin on three games last weekend, is No. 9 in both polls. The Golden Knights registered 38 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll and 24 points in the USCHO.com poll.
About the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll: The 11th annual poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the six NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the American Hockey Coaches Association and USA Hockey Magazine, the most widely distributed hockey magazine in the world.
