League Trio Ranks Among Nation's Best

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The latest national poll, released October 23, continues to showcase a strong League presence as Harvard St. Lawrence and Dartmouth garner slot Nos. 5, 6 and 9, respectively, in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll.

Harvard, which swept past McGill in a pair of exhibition contests to open its season last weekend, jumped to the No. 5 position. The Crimson totaled 104 points. Harvard opens regular-season play November 2 by hosting Quinnipiac.

St. Lawrence ranks No. 6 in the poll with 91 total points. The Saints dropped a hard-fought 3-2 decision to Connecticut Friday before rebounding with an 8-0 triumph over visiting Providence. 

Dartmouth, which opens regular-season competition October 26 against Vermont at Thompson Arena, maintained its No. 9 ranking in the poll. The Big Green totaled 32 points.

ABOUT THE POLL: The 11th annual USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the six NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the American Hockey Coaches Association and USA Hockey Magazine, the most widely distributed hockey magazine in the world.
