League Teams Highlight Rankings; Clarkson Enters Polls

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Clarkson became the fifth league team to earn a national ranking this season, garnering the No. 10 spot in the latest USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine and USCHO.com polls. The Golden Knights join league trio St. Lawrence, Harvard and Dartmouth among the nation's top 10 teams.

Clarkson earned its first ranking this season after posting a win and a tie versus No. 2 Mercyhurst this past weekend. The Golden Knights, behind ECAC Hockey Player of the Week Britney Selina, earned a 2-2 tie and 3-2 victory. Clarkson, which owns a 10-2-2 overall record, totaled 23 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll and 17 points in the USCHO.com poll.

St. Lawrence continued to hold its top-five ranking in the poll, jumping to No. 2 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll and to No. 3 in the USCHO.com poll. The Saints totaled 155 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll and 101 points in the USCHO.com poll based upon their 8-2 overall record. St. Lawrence did not play this past weekend.

Harvard, which improved to 4-0 with a pair of shutout victories over Yale (3-0) and Brown (2-0) occupies the No. 5 slot in both polls. The Crimson, who earned one first-place vote in each poll, totaled 119 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll and 92 points in the USCHO.com poll.

Dartmouth (6-0-1) holds the No. 8 ranking in both polls, having defeated Brown and Yale this past weekend. The Big Green registered 60 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll and 55 points in the USCHO.com poll.
